With the Smart family’s resurrection of S-Mart, these strangely dark and darkly strange violences have accelerated in their recurrence. Ruth was just the first. These incidents are shockingly under-reported by their local news media, which perhaps points toward another conspiracy, but I’ve been able to obtain hard facts about each. I’ll run you through them now.
The first was Ruth’s death on July 17th, with which you are by now, if you’ve been attentive to my information, duly familiar. The second occurred roughly one month later, on August 15th, at the chain’s Royal Oak location. After hearing a loud scream, a member of S-Mart’s cleaning crew found a head in the back room. Only the head. It would seem that decapitation is a worryingly common occurence at S-Mart. According to this witness, the head, which belonged to one of his coworkers, “opened its eyes and taunted him, calling him names and cackling” before becoming inanimate.
THE THIRD in the chain of recent deaths occurred at the Elk Grove location on September 1st. In this incident, a body was found behind a cash register by the opening stock person. The body was discolored, as though covered in bruises, and its wrists were broken with the hands twisted at odd angles. The body had suffered several traumatic blows to the skull from the blunt end of a firearm taken from S-Mart’s sporting goods section. The witness, who also suffered cuts and bruises, claimed that he had been fighting with the body and that it was “already dead” when it attacked him.
THE FOURTH of these incidents occurred at S-Mart’s newest and furthest-flung location in Morristown, Tennessee. At approximately 3:45 PM an S-Mart employee emerged from the back room and began accosting employees, asking them to ‘join’ him for some unspecified but likely unwholesome activity. This employee became increasingly aggressive and began self-mutilating, eventually setting fire to himself while playing with a lighter. The flames were seen to consume him, ending his life.
THE FIFTH and most recent incident occurred a mere 16 days later on September 29th, again in Royal Oak. This one is a bit more mysterious; after receiving multiple complaints from customers about a smell from the back alley, S-Mart’s on-duty manager left the store to investigate and found what initially appeared to be a pile of rotting meat. Upon closer examination, this was eventually identified as human skin. The owner of the skin remains undiscovered, at least according to the official record, and its presence in the alley remains unexplained.
And so, my friends, my investigation of S-Mart itself yielded results I could not have foreseen. What happened to my friend Ruth Kowalski was part of a larger pattern which is defined by the following features;
Sudden outbursts of extremely violent behavior by a person who seemed, up until that point, completely non-violent and sane.
Delusional ramblings or psychotic behavior exhibited by the violent person.
Eyewitness accounts describing phenomena that sound, on their face, almost supernatural, and can therefore only be the result of mass hallucination.
What could possibly describe such a pattern, a pattern which extends all the way back to 1993? Or, if the Ashy Slashy connection is more than a coincidence, perhaps all the way back to 1981? Well… if my theory is correct, the origins of this dark legacy can be found even further in the past than that. To uncover the truth of what is happening at S-Mart, we may need to look all the way back to the year 1953.
But first, let’s take a closer look at the family behind the S-Mart brand.
