Hello. Several of you have reached out to me complaining of dreams similar to the ones I experienced following the last Brucefest. In some cases this may be due to the nocturnal intrusion of malevolent entities into your psyche.
When we sleep we are vulnerable; our psychic defenses lowered, our dreaming minds more receptive to external influences and, in some cases, our astral or etheric bodies sojourning away from the physical. I myself have recently undertaken such sojourns consciously, for investigative purposes, and plan to continue doing so. The new avenues of investigation opened by this technique are significant. (Dreamwalking is particularly risky and I do not recommend it to the untrained.)
For those of us engaged in struggles against the demonic, protection is crucial. This can be achieved through creation of an apotropaic item.
In many mystic traditions, such an item would be physical; an amulet, a symbol scratched into a wall, a hand-crafted ward. However, such measures were little help to me following my brush with the entity known as "Auntie" in the wake of the Kandar Collective's interception of the S-Mart board's emergency zoom.
After many sleepless nights and fruitless hours of research and experimentation, I discovered the reason. Auntie's connection to our realm was, in this case, digital. I do not know how S-Mart accomplished this. Perhaps somewhere deep within the bowels of their corporate office is some infernal router, enchanted with arcane symbols to enable its connection with demonic realms. I can only speculate. Nevertheless the answer was clear; I would need to create a digital apotropaic ward.
The Kandar Collective logo is one such ward. Its presence on my website, video content, and various profiles ensures that I remain protected here as well as in the mortal realm. I have included the ward below, so that any of you may download the image and use it for your own protection. You will note that I have included options with an alpha channel and differing backgrounds to suit a range of aesthetic preferences.
However, it is encouraged that you develop a digital apotropaic ward of your own. This can be accomplished through any image editing tool such as Photoshop, GIMP, Canva, etc. Instructions below: 1. Research traditional symbols and their meanings. Monitor your own feelings closely. If you run across an apotropaic symbol that you feel connected to, it may be worth including in your ward.
2. Design symbolic elements that are known for their protective properties. Common examples include pentagrams, eyes, sigils, or religious symbols that are sources of faith for the individual. I myself chose the image of the castle, firstly because Castle Kandar is a powerful symbol of protection against evil. Secondly, I chose it because the castle itself was the site of our foe's greatest humiliation and is still hated by said foe to this day.
3. Create the artwork. This can look however you would like. I chose simplicity for my design, both because I prefer a clean aesthetic and because I want the logo to appear as a beacon to those in need. However, others among you may possess more creative flair or a desire for subtlety and therefore wish to craft something less pronounced. The important thing is that your apotropaic symbol is concealed somewhere within the image. If the artwork resonates with you personally.... so much the better. It is also common practice to use a social media "profile picture" as a base for an apotropaic ward and adorn it with appropriate symbology. This can be a powerful approach as well, and is a convenient way to remain protected on multiple platforms.
4. Add Intention
As you create the item, you must infuse it with your intention to ward off the malevolent entities. This can be done through visualization and mental projection of intent during the creative process. Focus on imbuing the digital object with protective energy (often symbolized by white light) and the power to repel the demon's gaze.
Following creation, rituals or meditation can be used to recharge the digital item or strengthen its properties. While ancient incantations and words of power remain mostly effective, in the modern world it can be equally effective to focus on this intention while, for example, singing along with a song that makes you feel empowered and secure. I myself use Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" for this purpose.
5. Activate and Use
Once your apotropaic ward is prepared, there are many ways to employ it. Using it as a profile picture, desktop background, or other prominent icon is advised. In times of acute need, it can also be useful to focus on the apotropaic item and visualize its protective effect.
I strongly encourage you to develop an apotropaic item of your own and employ it wherever possible. This is especially important if you are an active member of the collective, as our operations frequently expose us to malevolent supernatural attention. If you heard Auntie's voice at any time, creation of an apotropaic item is a matter of survival.
